Student visual arts exhibition

The Autry Museum’s annual Student Visual Arts Exhibition is a juried exhibition, with 100+ middle and high school students' artwork exploring a topic of relevance in the American West.

The 2024 Exhibition asked the students to share their visions of freedom:

“For centuries, the American West has offered opportunities for freedom. Millions of people have looked to the American West as a place where they could secure freedoms not offered elsewhere. How do you define freedom? What does it mean to be free? Can freedom lost be won?”

The 2025 Exhibition asked the students to share their visions of the future:

“For peoples living across the American West, the future has long been an inspiration for dreams, fears, hopes, and actions… What do you think the future holds for you? For Los Angeles? For California? For the American West? What do you think the world will look like, sound like, feel like in ten years, fifty years, one hundred years, or even a thousand years?”
